This affects how the moving parts cycle on these receivers, maybe the timing. On the B80 model, there is a shim that is screwed onto the front of the receiver when using 2-3/4", then removed for the 3". If the barrel says it's good for 3", you can shoot either. Q1) If using steel shot, is it best with a 3" chambered barrel? If true, would I be able to use a Beretta / Browning B80 3" barrel? If so, could I shoot 3" shells then, will that work with this receiver?Ī1) The barrel is designed so it becomes part of the chamber, and the bore size leading into the forcing cones is designed to shoot the size ammo listed on that barrel. Beretta A303, 20 gauge 2-3/4" chamber, 28" barrel, with IC Mobilchoke. I sometimes see the AL model talked about. are these the only compatible models A300, A301, A302 & Browning B80. Would that mean that a skeet (SP) would pattern like a improved cylinder or cylinder?Īre there synthetic stocks for this model? I'm asking because I was going to let my son use this for hunting and the wood that's on it is in such good condition, I'd like to keep it that way.Īs far as looking for compatible parts such as a replacement barrel etc. are also acceptable?Īlso, on their site it says that the improved cylinder (SP) choke patterns similar to a modified. Does that mean that tungsten, bismuth shot etc. On Beretta's website it shows the Mobilchokes with the (SP) markings are ok to use with steel shot. If I were to go ahead and use the 2 3/4" chambered barrel that I have, will the non-tox shot ruin the barrel if using a choke no tighter than a modified? If this is true, would I be able to say, use a Beretta or Browning B80 3" barrel and if so, could I also shoot 3" shells, or will that not work with this receiver? I read on this site in one of the forums that if using steel shot with this model it is best done with a 3" chambered barrel. I do appreciate any and all help that can be provided.

I know this is asking a number of questions. I 'm looking for help with some questions regarding a Beretta A303 20 gauge 2 3/4 chamber and 28" barrel with an improved cylinder Mobilchoke.
